A heartfelt thank you to Steph and the entire Herbstalk team for creating such a beautiful, vibrant community over the years. It was truly an honor to teach at this final Herbstalk gathering and to be part of a weekend filled with learning, connection, and shared passion.
While the event was an incredible success—with so many enthusiastic, like-minded people coming together to share their knowledge and gifts—it was also bittersweet.
Herbstalk has been a special space for herbalists, healers, teachers, and seekers to gather, and it is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this beloved community. I am deeply grateful for the friendships, inspiration, and wisdom that have blossomed through these gatherings.
Thank you to everyone who attended my Sacred Sleep class. It was wonderful to explore Ayurvedic approaches to rest, nervous system regulation, and creating supportive evening routines. We concluded our session with a Yoga Nidra practice, and many participants expressed interest in continuing the experience at home.
As promised, I've recorded several Yoga Nidra practices to support deep rest and restorative sleep. You can access the recordings here:
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra, often translated as "yogic sleep," is a guided meditation practice that leads us into a state between waking and sleeping—a place of profound rest where the body relaxes deeply while awareness remains present.
In this state, the nervous system has an opportunity to settle, the thinking mind begins to quiet, and we can gently meet our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with greater ease and compassion.
Over time, Yoga Nidra can help us cultivate:
Deep physical, mental, and emotional rest
Improved sleep quality and nervous system regulation
Greater resilience in the face of stress and emotional challenges
Increased self-awareness and insight
The ability to respond to life with greater clarity rather than react from habit
A deeper connection to our authentic self and inner sense of well-being
In the iRest® tradition of Yoga Nidra, we learn to welcome all aspects of our experience—body sensations, breath, emotions, thoughts, and awareness itself—as valuable messengers. Rather than trying to fix, change, or avoid what is present, we develop the capacity to meet our experience with curiosity and compassion.
This practice reminds us that beneath the changing waves of thoughts and emotions, there is a steady awareness that remains whole, peaceful, and present. Returning to that awareness again and again can become a powerful support for healing, rest, and personal transformation.
Thank you again for sharing this journey with me. May these recordings support you in finding moments of deep rest, restoration, and ease.
