Moon Milk is a warm, comforting drink made with milk, spices like nutmeg and cardamom, and a touch of honey. It is traditionally associated with promoting sleep and rejuvenation, qualities linked to Soma.


  • 1 cup milk of your choice (dairy, nut-based, oat milk, etc.)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of ground ginger (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon ghee or coconut oil (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried rose petals, food-grade and organic

  • Few drops of rosewater extract (optional)


  1. Warm the milk: In a small saucepan, heat your chosen milk over medium-low heat until just simmering. Don't let it boil.

  2. Whisk in spices and rose petals: Once the milk is warm, whisk in the nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger (if using), and dried rose petals. Continue whisking to fully incorporate the spices and avoid lumps.

  3. Simmer and infuse: Reduce heat to low, cover the pan partially, and simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors and the essence of the rose petals to infuse into the milk.
